"Falling" for vintage chest of drawers
January 19th, 2010 in member junkThis is a vintage chest of drawers that I've had for awhile. It used to hold office supplies in my office until I redecorated (I now use an old radio cabinet converted into shelves :)
I loved the frame and trim, the drawer fronts were sort of pretty, but the side panels always bothered me because they looked like someone stained them using an uneven circular motion. So....... I busted out the paint (a gorgeous watery aqua/green), as well as some metallic paints in champagne and espresso brown and found a leaf stencil.
I thought for a moment about making it evenly spaced, like wall paper, but then decided to make it more random, like the leaves just sort of fell that way.
I love how it turned out.
