By far, my FAVORITE find today! I could not resist this old wooden storage bin. I walked past it a dozen times hoping that someone else would swipe it so I wouldnt have to justify this to my boyfriend, but in the end my junking instincts won out. I hauled it home, and put the vase (also free) full of hydrangeas on it (cut from my front yard). Now it's on my porch and I am enjoying the chippy-paint splendor of it.
some old dishes. Not sure if I'll keep all of them, but I plan to use them to make a pretty table setting for my mom's birthday because she's flying down here to visit (ON her actual b-day). When she walks in the house after an early morning flight, I'll have a nice breakfast waiting with lovely mismatched dishes and fresh cut flowers, and her presents too of course.
I couldn't believe someone left this old Black Beauty book! It's in rough shape, but it DOES have all the pages in tact as well as the 'beauty-ful' cover. It's my three favorite things" free junk+ antique books+ children's literature= Ecstatic Erin!
These architectural elements were also abandoned. I love the white one especially, but they have nails sticking out in the back so they need to be handles very carefully. (My house is so far from child-proof: good things I don't have any kids)
I love dogs, and this dish was simply charming. Sometime I worry that my decorating style is getting a little too 'girly': I share a home with my boyfriend. When I find little pieces like this, I like to put them around to balance out all the girly stuff. Even though he really doesn't seem to mind, I like the house to reflect that we BOTH live there.

I found so much cool stuff todaY! I had to cut myself off after a while because I had so much stuff (and I am supposed to be moving later this summer-doh!). But I was glad to walk away with the stuff that I did. Here's a few of my favorites. :)
